Driving through to the Dells area and stopped in for some lunch. Great food!! Had Steve's Meatloaf Sandwich and it was delicious. Food is cooked right in front of you and has the feel of a home cooked meal. Best part, it was a great price!

Always a great breakfast served quickly! Plate is full, and the staff does a great job.

Excellent Breakfast. Full plates, at very reasonable prices. Never have my wife or I left here with food left on our plates. Empty plates in my mind is a Testament to the Cook. Over all the Perfect Small Town Dinner. Highly Recommend to any one passing through, or staying in Portage

Quick and amazing service. The menu did not have any vegetarian option available and yet the host made sure we got our veggie sandwich custom made as soon as possible. This tasted very nice as well. The pickles they had served along the sandwich was very good. Their in house coffee was amazing.

The food was small town home cooking where the service staff was excellent. I would definitely go there again.

Well kids liked it but my sausage gravy sausage half raw I give it to them 2 min later they come back say u sure you don't want it no I don't want it offered me nothing we take it off the bill omg they could fix it without being raw Iv never seen nothing like that pray I don't get sick

My hubs and I stopped at the Portage cafe en route from Wisconsin dells to Appleton for a family reunion. All I can say is “dang, Steve can cook!”. Great little cafe, and Steve the main man cooked our breakfast. Delicious!

Best breakfast in Portage! Friendly service from everyone. They really make you feel welcomed. And I love the nostalgic "old school" cafe environment. Grab a booth or sit up at the counter and watch Steve, the owner, prepare your meal while he fills you in on all the town gossip. Tasty food at a fair price!

Fast service they get it if your in a hurry an need a bite. Only place that's bin consistently good around here. There's a reason I put my business name on the coffee cup. Great place to eat.

Good service, decent food, 2 miles off the highway. The price was very good. This is a typical small town cafe. If it wasn't so far off the highway I may have given it a four star.

I went in and got service right away. The owner(Steve) backed up his waitress and brought me coffee right away, by asking me also right away. Also, the young lady was a good and server. The food was good, big sausage patties. AWESOME!...experience.

Service is superb, food is excellent, especially their omelettes! Only open until 2pm or so, but great place downtown for breakfast!

Small Town EatsWe found this little place to get breakfast in downtown Portage. A little cafe, the service was very good. The servers refilled the coffee every few mins and the food came out in 10 minutes. The portion sizes are not huge but a good size and pricing for two people with coffee and breakfast was under $25 dollars. I ordered ribeye and eggs with an English muffin. I got my ribeye medium rare and it was cooked just right. I added hash browns with cheese and onions. My meal was good and just enough food to fill you up. Shayla ordered a build your own omelette with ham, mushroom, tomato, and cheddar cheese. It was delicious. Sliced ham, not cubed which was a pleasant surprise and the mushrooms and tomatoes were stuffed inside the eggs. The meal came with hash browns and toast (I ordered marble rye). All in all a great experience for breakfast in a small town. We would definitely go back. Street parking, $ 4 out of 5 stars
